For most of this year Desley and I have had the feeling that we need to change our situation, and simplify quite drastically. We feel it is time for a renewal, new directions, new work. Our recent trip back to Italy has given us the time for reflection, and strangely, this year has unfolded in such a way that has made certain decisions very appropriate.
I am also a great believer in making space to allow new things to enter. I am not about to retire, and have some interesting ideas for new paintings and sculptures, so I feel the need to make that new space available.
A couple of times this year I have made special offers, to stimulate sales of my work, with quite good success. However, we are going to do more.
Our Maleny house, studio and gallery are now on the market.
We are not sure exactly where we are going to from here, but we have great faith that the next step will present itself to us at the appropriate time. Of course, we still have our place in Italy where we can hang out for a while if needed.
I do not want to put my paintings and sculptures into storage, so I am offering those that have not sold beforehand at an Auction at Graydon Gallery in New Farm on 25th August.
The paintings will be on exhibition for only 4 days, from Tuesday 22nd August to Friday 25th August. On the Thursday night before the Auction we will keep the gallery open until 8pm.
The Auction will start at 6pm on Friday 25th August, with bidder registration from 6 to 7, and the Auction beginning at 7pm.
The complete auction catalogue is available for download here.
You are most welcome to attend. We hope to see many people there. It should be fun.
This painting, "St. Marco Triptych" 190 x 90 cm, has graced the entrance hall of our home in Soiana in Italy for more than ten years. Now we are offering it for sale.
