This painting is part of one side of the Fontana dei Putti (Fountain of Angels), a small but beautiful marble fountain in the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, adjacent to the famous Leaning Tower. I like this subject very much, its simplicity, and its subtle muted colour. It also satisfies my liking for the challenge of painting subjects with a shallow visual depth.
