Two Men Of Lucca

Oil on board - 50 x 40cm  (Framed size: 67 x 57 x 3.5 cm)   -  $6,250
Lucca is a lovely walled Roman town about 45 minutes drive from our Italian home.  I have painted many aspects of Lucca over the last 30 years, and it never ceases to provide interesting subjects whenever I visit. The Italian winter light is very soft and subtle, and presents its own subtleties to paint. This painting alludes to the wonderful relationship Italians have with their older inhabitants. There are always people walking arm in arm, or helping others.  It is a delightful culture to experience.
