Rose Cottage - Tuscany

I was inspired by this rose bush growing on the wall of a simple complex of buildings in Fiano, a small town north of San Gimignano in Tuscany.  This is a subject which could be easily missed. It is situated on the side of a narrow road, and you pass very close to it as you leave town.  I find this part of Fiano very attractive, and I have previously done a couple of paintings from here.

This painting was selected as a finalist, and hung in the 2025 Lethbridge Small Scale Art Awards.
