This small painting owes its creation to the wonderful garden in Palazzo Pfanner in Lucca. Not a large garden by Italian standards, but it is very peaceful and serene, with fountains and statues. It is a lovely place to rest from the bustle of busy Lucca. I have been there several times, and have done 2 small paintings previously. This marble man is guarding the wall of the orangery, where the orange trees are housed over winter.
